  1. Kdesis.com - a resource dedicated to helping patients find doctors. You can browse the categories by category and state - search capabilities are being worked on.
  2. QualityHealth.com - a resource to help you live a healthy lifestyle. Includes separate A-to-Z references on "Health By The Letter", "Medication By The Letter", and "Procedures and Medical Tests".
  3. agreeAdate.com - an online planning tool to help you organize a business meeting, social event or get-together.
  4. Newgie.com - [free beta-version of a news-retrieval service] Newgie examines user activity on news stories and uses predictive analytics, developed by economists, to assign a score to each article called the Newsiness score. The higher an article’s Newsiness score, the more likely users are to find that article interesting.
  5. HomeToys - an ezine [online magazine] that covers home automation, home networking, and home theater technologies. An interesting home automation technology company is "NuvoTechnology".
  6. HomeTheaterHiFi.com - a resource that claims to reveal the secrets of Home Theater and High Fidelity (audio) - visit their "forums"; also includes industry press releases, product reviews, and more. Also visit: "Home Theater Blog", "Cinema Source", "SoundStageAV" and "HTDude".
  7. BusinessWeek.mobi - Web site that supports the mobile devices Web page format. Also visit "CityGuide.mobi" to see another - very limited in what can be displayed.
  8. Research401K.com - a resource for 401k topics such as Roth IRA Accounts, 401k Contribution Limits, Hardship Withdrawals, Self-Employed 401ks and more.
  9. HardForum.com - an online discussion resource about personal computing hardware topics and problems. Statistics to date: Threads: 395,436, Posts: 4,493,521, Members: 71,271. Also visit: "SharkyExtreme" - a resource that covers the latest PC hardware and software technologies. Make sure you check-out their "Sharky Forums".
  10. XPTuneUp.com - [claims to have 148 tips] tips, tricks, and how-to's on fine tuning system performance for Windows XP. Find solutions for slow boots, internet/network speed, Windows XP customization, security, and many common XP problems.
  11. MyPollingsite.com - a resource that helps people to find their polling place to vote. [This resource was mentioned on an earlier WebTop10 list].
  12. SpeakEasy.net's Speed Test - use this resource to check-out your Internet connection speed.

  17. WorldCat.org - [by the "OCLC - Online Computer Library Center"] access 1.3 billion items in 10,000+ libraries worldwide. Use WorldCat to find books, music, and videos to check out. WorldCat is the world's largest library network. [check out "http://www.oclc.org/worldcat/grow.htm" , which'll give you a window to watch stuff being added into the database in real-time.]
  18. Techadvice.com - a tech support resource for computer hardware and software.
  19. SingingFish.com - an audio and video file search engine.
  20. FAQTs.com - gives you access to a knowledge base of information. There are currently 28513 members [check out the "member cloud"], with 10542 answers to 12117 questions.
  21. Peer2Mail.com - is the [first] software that lets you store and share files on any web-mail account. [If you have a web mail account with large storage space, you can use P2M to store files on it. Web-mail providers such as Gmail (Google Mail), "Walla!", Yahoo and more, provide storage space that ranges from 100MB to 3GB. Peer2Mail splits the file you want to share/store zips and encrypts it. P2M then sends the file segments one by one to your account. Once P2M uploaded all file segments, you can download them and use P2M to merge the segments back to the original file. Peer2Mail is 100% free.]
  22. BehindTheChair.com - a [professional salon industry] cosmetology resource including news, classifieds, online store, bulletin board, student resources and more.
  23. PodZinger.com - a podcast search engine; search engine that lets you find the topics that interest you inside the audio of podcasts and lets you visually skim and listen to relevant snippets. You can then download or subscribe to just the ones you want. And, their Weblog search engine - "BlogZinger".

  24. (*)Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware |Defender" - here is the link to download Microsoft's Defender AntiSpyware software; it is well worth checking out.

  27. (***)Here is the way to "eliminate the Windows Logon Screen". Remember to be careful when editing any system files; make sure you review the numerous resources I've posted about the Windows Registry that can be found on my "Tips" and "Techlinks" pages. And if you need access to your Windows system [like you forgot your administrative password] and are having trouble - then the "EBCD Utility [Free]" may be able to help.

(***)US-CERT warns against using Internet Explorer - issued 6-29-2004 - U.S. government's Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT) is warning Web surfers to stop using Microsoft's Internet Explorer (IE) browser. If you are concerned an alternative may be Mozilla's next generation Web browser called "FireFox" and visit the "InfoStar Virus Info Center" Web page and look for Web browsers.
  29. (***)List of fixes included in Windows XP Service Pack 2 [SP 2] - access Microsoft's information on what they have tried to fix in Windows XP. Here's an article on the fact that a "SP 2 exploit has already been found".
  30. (***)End of support for Windows 98 and Windows Me [July 11, 2006] - as recently announced by Microsoft.
