  2. EdRef.com - a free resource with info on 1,000's of US colleges and universities; also visit CollegeData.com.
  3. iMakeNews - a Web based communications and marketing service to improve customer relations; free 15-day trial.
  4. UltimateBootCD.com - a free download of very useful troubleshooting utilties for Windows users.
  5. Koders.com - a source code search engine for programmers - 225,000,000+ lines of code.
  6. FindAnISP.com - an online database to search for an ISP in your area; also checkout TheList.com.
  7. HousingZone.com a resource for the builder or remodeler.
  8. CareerJet.com - search engine for jobs.

  10. HoneyNet.org - Honeynet Project is a non-profit volunteer, research organization dedicated to improving the security of the Internet at no cost to the public.
  11. Glossarist.com - a searchable directory of glossaries and topical dictionaries.
  12. Voip-info.org - covers everything related to VOIP, software, hardware, service providers, reviews, configurations, standards, tips & tricks and everything else related to voice over IP networks, IP telephony and Internet telephony.
  13. MeetingWizzard.com - a resource to help you schedule meetings and events.

  15. BleepingComputer.com - is a community devoted to providing free original content, consisting of computer help and tutorials, in such a way that the beginning computer user can understand. See also "ComputerHope" and "TechGuy".
  16. DCResource.com [Digital Camera Resource] - was the first of the "big four" digital camera sites, founded in November 1997. The DCRP is designed to be an unofficial resource for current and future owners of digital cameras. It is aimed more towards the consumer end, rather than the high end ($5,000) professional cameras. Visit also their "PrinterSpot" resource too. Another imaging resource to checkout is "Imaging-Resource".
  17. PVRBlog.com - a resource to help you keep up with TiVo and related PVR devices including news and reviews.
  18. RobbReport.com - resource for the luxury lifestyle [a luxury portal].
  19. Zagat.com - an international searchable database of 25,000+ restaurants and entertainment place. Also visit "DineSite", "MenuPix.com" and "RestaurantReport".
  20. SillyDog.org - home of the Netscape Browser Archive; one of the largest consolidated archives on the Web for free downloading Netscape browser software.
  21. FreeSkills - they provide access to nearly 700 free online tutorials.

  22. (*)Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware ([XP] Beta) - here is the link to download Microsoft's new AntiSpyware software; it is well worth checking out.

  25. (***)Here is the way to "eliminate the Windows Logon Screen". Remember to be careful when editing any system files; make sure you review the numerous resources I've posted about the Windows Registry that can be found on my "Tips" and "Techlinks" pages. And if you need access to your Windows system [like you forgot your administrative password] and are having trouble - then the "EBCD Utility [Free]" may be able to help.

(***)US-CERT warns against using Internet Explorer - issued 6-29-2004 - U.S. government's Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT) is warning Web surfers to stop using Microsoft's Internet Explorer (IE) browser. If you are concerned an alternative may be Mozilla's next generation Web browser called "FireFox" and visit the "InfoStar Virus Info Center" Web page and look for Web browsers.
  27. (***)List of fixes included in Windows XP Service Pack 2 [SP 2] - access Microsoft's information on what they have tried to fix in Windows XP. Here's an article on the fact that a "SP 2 exploit has already been found".
  28. (***)End of support for Windows 98 and Windows Me [July 11, 2006] - as recently announced by Microsoft.
